Coastal Explorer Trial

PLEASE NOTE: The Coastal Explorer Trial represents our Coastal Explorer 1.1 product. We will not be making a Coastal Explorer 2009 Trial, but we do expect to have a Coastal Explorer 2010 Trial available soon.

Overview

The Coastal Explorer Trial software lets you try the product out on your boat before making a purchase decision. The trial version of Coastal Explorer is almost fully operational, but has the following limitations:

• The weather forecast and tidal prediction features can only be used for 10 days.
• The NMEA 0183 (GPS, Autopilot, etc.) interface will work for only 15 minutes after starting the program.
• No charts are included in the download, but you can download charts separately.
• Most states are not included in the gazetteer, but can be downloaded separately.
• Only a few Guide Books are included, but you can downloaded more separately.
• The background world map has less detail than the full version.

How to Download and Install

1. Download the CETrial11.exe file to your computer by clicking on the Download button
2. Open the CETrial icon to start the setup program
3. Follow the instructions on the screen
4. After the setup program is finished, you may delete the CETrial file if it was saved to your computer

How to Get Charts and Additional Features

After Coastal Explorer Trial is installed, start it up and use the Tools > Download Charts command to download free charts from NOAA and the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Additional states and countries can be added to the gazetteer and Guide Books by downloading files from CoastalExplorer.net.

How to Remove the Trial Software

When you are done using the Coastal Explorer Trial software, it may be removed from your computer by using the "Add or Remove Programs" option in the Windows Control Panel.
